The Infected Harpies are special Infected.

"It does not seem very dangerous, but this infected girl is so fast that it can jump over the walls and kill any soldier with its sharp claws."
General Information[]
Harpies move extremely quickly and are definitely a force to be reckoned with. Because of its claws it has the ability to jump over walls which can easily catch the player off guard and infect lots of vital buildings. They spawn around the edges of the map, can be pulled with swarms and run in front of the final wave in survival mode.
Harpies are more sensitive to Noise than other special infected and can be provoked to attack from 36 tiles away.
Wall climbing[]
A harpy can cross any amount of wall tiles, but needs a free space to land in the end. Wasps count as wall tile. If there is no such space, Harpy will be stuck, and usually will not attack wall. Harpies can also get stuck on top of walls if landing spot becomes unavailable, for example, if colony units move in faster.
Despite common misconception, harpies can jump over Wasps behind walls if their primary target is behind wasps and has an empty spot in front of it, as seen hereyoutube. However, they can't reach a building which is completely surrounded by walls or units.
Trivia[]
Based on the research note in the Omega Research Facility, the Harpies were result of infected women being mutated after being subjected to the experimental V9 vaccine to combat Rabies Z.
